Spotlessly Clean Cabins

We know what it’s like to go to a resort and find your cabin - well, less than satisfactory. We understand that while a wilderness vacation should bring you closer to nature, it doesn’t mean you can’t be comfortable and your accommodations can’t be clean. 

At MRL we go to great lengths to ensure your stay is enjoyable, comfortable and worry-free. Before you arrive (and during your American Plan stay), your cabin and everything in it is meticulously cleaned from top to bottom and in every nook and cranny. Fresh sheets and bedding, towels and toiletries are provided; kitchen appliances and amenities, windows, floors, fixtures, furniture and surfaces are all cleaned to perfection. And if we did miss something, we’ll make it right immediately.

All our boats are cleaned, refuelled and inspected with each turn over so when you arrive its ready to go. We even include a towel with each boat for your convenience! Our lodge, dining room, common washrooms, grounds and fish cleaning station are also attended to regularly. We also offer a laundry service including wash, dry and fold for a nominal fee. 

We have invested in a significant infrastructure to provide safe, potable well water you can drink from your tap (tested regularly), an extensive over-built septic system, upgraded propane heating units and electrical system to provide optimum 24-hour service. Each year, we have also invested in replacing tiered mattresses, appliances, equipment and other amenities for the convenience and practical benefit of our guests. We are also in the process of replacing roofs with steel on a number of our buildings. After all, we want to preserve the 93-year heritage that is Marten River Lodge.

Becky Rose (Robinson)

Guest Services Specialist

Becky joined MRL in 2017 and quickly proved that good things do come in small packages! We just had no idea how versatile she can be and thus Guest Services Specialist seems to best describe her role. Becky Rose

With her primary housekeeping duties, Becky upholds our meticulous standards for cleanliness which guests have come to appreciate. She attends to every detail in our cabins, lodge and dining room and ensures each guest's comfort during their stay. When she’s not attending to cabins, Becky can be found doing a host of other duties including laundry, cleaning and fueling boats, cutting the lawn and other yard work.Becky with husband and guide Sam

And if that’s not enough to keep her busy, Becky is also a talented and very enthusiastic Chef, and when called upon to relieve Peter in the kitchen, guests are in for a special treat with her personal style of cuisine. Schooled and certified in the culinary arts with experience working in some of Kingston’s favourite tourism and dining establishments, Becky delights in preparing and presenting her meals with care. Chef Peter has said he has never trusted anyone in the kitchen as he does Becky in all his years here, and our guests have echoed their complements repeatedly.

Becky and Sam Rose (MRL guide) were married last fall and together they make a dynamic duo, sharing their passion for fishing and hunting and living life large in the outdoors. Always with a smile, an infectious bubbly personality and eagerness to ensure our guests enjoy their time and experience at MRL, Becky is an invaluable and trusted member of the MRL team and we are thankful to have her with us. You will be too!
